Today Rustle started 2 services. I listened to the sermon in the first and wrote the reflection in the second:

Colossians 3:12-15

Cover us with Your mercy
We choose You
Choose Your love
Let our spirits be clothed in You
May our garments radiate
What You have poured into us
We are naked before You
Strip away the things that are harmful for us
The things that are easy but destructive
We need to turn away from
Let us choose to put on kindness, humility and peace
That people when they see us
Would see us radiating Your presence
Let the Word of Christ dwell in us
Let us purpose to follow You
And dwell with You forever

The trees are designed to grow up
Up to the sky
Spread their leaves to receive nutrients from the sun
Sometimes the conditions around cause the trees to twist and warp
And they no longer grow up straight
But when conditions change
They will again grow up straight
Straight toward the sun

And so with us
We are designed to grow up
Up toward God
Spread our lives to receive nutrients from the Son
Sometimes the conditions around cause us to twist and warp
stop growing
stop looking to God
stop reaching for Him
But there comes a time
When the tide is going to change
Freedom is going to come
Revolution
Reformation
Transformation
Then growth
Up to the sky
The way God intended

Transformation

Set your sights on Heaven
Brilliant skies
Light streaking to Earth
God's colours are more brilliant than any colours here
His life in us is more brilliant than any life without him here
Keeping our eyes on Heaven
Not on the distractions of this world
The transformation comes from You
We can't do this in our own strength
Things in our lives are like seeds
Sow them into the ground
As we follow God's Word and plan for our lives
Watch them grow

Streaks

July 29

God is the original creator of "streaks"
He makes heavenly streaks as he chases after us
He longs for our hearts
He longs for us to not be distracted from Him
He longs for us to be so focused on Him
For He is the most important thing
The world is fading away
The Word is the only thing that is true
Everything else is streaking away
Only the Word remains
Daniel 10
The angel streaks toward Daniel because of his prayers
But is stopped by the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia
When the angel finally broke through and completed his mission to Daniel
He streaked away again
God streaks toward us
We are precious to Him
Revelation 4:5
From the throne come flashes of lightning
Lightning is a streak in the sky
The original streak is often used to depict God and what he may do
He streaks with power
He streaks with glory
He streaks with majesty
Psalm 19
The heavens proclaim the glory of God (with streaks)
The sun bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race
The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end
Nothing can hide from its heat
Thank You for Your streaks of love towards us
Thank You for everything you have done for us
From creating the world
To sending Your son to streak to us
