Children who commit crimes

I have watched some documentaries today about children who commit serious crimes and are sentenced to life in prison. They said that the US is the only country in the world that will allow children to be sentenced to life. Bad choices as a child can haunt you as an adult.

unity in the body

I want my people to be free to be who I have called them to be
Not constrained by what other people think
If people get upset because flags are waved, coffee is bad, people are too loud or too quiet, people do things differently than they would, that is not unity and  is missing the point.
Unity is loving and accepting others
Not judging
Not thinking that you understand God's ways
Because you don't
Not on your own
That is why we need people who are different from ourselves
To see God in new ways
No one person can have a complete view of God
We need and are reliant on others to build a more complete picture of God
When He says that He loves you, there are no strings attached
So should it be when we love others.
We've been a broken body but we're coming together again
Coming together in love, forgiveness and unity

Rustle prayer from Oct 2015

The Next 10 Years

May You continue to redeem the past with Love
May You continue to chase monsters out from under our beds
May You continue to give us peace in difficult circumstances
May You continue to lead us with Your heart of compassion for the hurt, wounded and dying

Wearing God

I have been reading Lauren Winner's "Wearing God" (it is due back to the library tomorrow)

p. 17 It is one of my working theories in the spiritual life that when a prayer (or a parable, or a phrase from the Bible, or a question posed in a sermon, or a picture in a museum, or a passage in a book) rubs you the wrong way but you find yourself unable to set down the rankling thing and move on, the rankling might in fact be the Holy Spirit's way of getting your attention, of fixing your eyes and asking you to look more closely at the prayer or parable or painting or phrase- to discover what it holds for you, if only you'd be willing to explore it, and yourself, deeply enough,

Common Prayer: A liturgy for Ordinary Radicals Jan 27:

Help us to live so foolishly for you that we draw onlookers and those who would deride us. and while they watch and mock, change our hearts that we might learn to laugh at the foolishness this world calls normal and run away with the circus that is real life.

Pieces

He knows what broke your heart and how to find all the pieces.
